Specialty Eye Services

Our dedication to providing our patients with the highest level of eye care goes beyond simple comprehensive eye exams and screenings. We also provide a variety of specialty services tailored to your individual needs and concerns, and we’re ready to address all of your concerns or questions.

Ocular Health Assessment

Our ocular health assessment can examine for a variety of issues, including:

  • Glaucoma
  • Diabetic Retinopathy
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Retinal Detachment
  • And other issues

During the ocular health assessment, it is common to assess for certain health conditions that may have an impact on your vision either now or in the future. With this resource at your disposal, you can catch problems and receive a diagnosis before the impact of your condition develops into something more serious in the long term.

If you have been experiencing any issues with your vision, or vision-related side effects from a health condition, book an appointment with our team of optometrists to undergo a detailed ocular health assessment and get to the bottom of your situation.

LASIK/PRK Co Management and Refractive Therapy

LASIK (laser assisted in situ keratomileusis) and PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) are vision-correcting surgeries that more patients are choosing to treat a variety of refractive eye conditions such as astigmatism, myopia (nearsightedness), and hyperopia (farsightedness). These surgeries are done with a highly precise, advanced laser technology to reduce an individual’s dependence on visual aids with a quick recovery time.

The first step in our LASIK/PRK co management service is determining if a patient is a candidate for LASIK/PRK. Our optometrists will go over your situation and your personal history to examine whether you will benefit from this procedure. If we determine that you will benefit from LASIK or PRK, we will refer you to the appropriate clinic. We work closely with only trusted, highly reputable clinics in the Greater Toronto and Barrie area and only refer patients to those clinics we fully trust.

Once your LASIK/PRK surgery is scheduled, our optometrists will also conduct pre and post op examinations with you. We will be there for you to answer your questions, check on your progress, and examine the long-term results. All of our optometrists are highly educated and knowledgeable about these procedures, and are happy to ensure you have all of the answers you need.

Dry Eye Management

Icon by EucalypDry eye is a condition that many people experience either as they age, from a specific situation such as overexposure to the sun, or a variety of other reasons. Ultimately, when an individual has dry eyes, their tears are not functioning optimally, which are important for eye health and protection. This normally results in a burning feeling, stinging, and discomfort. Dry eye can be harmful in the long run if it is not treated as soon as possible.

At Fervaha Eye Care, our optometrists will use a high-powered microscope and other innovative techniques to perform a dry eye test and determine a treatment that will work for your condition. While there is no definite cure for dry eyes, there are effective treatments available that can help control it and make you more comfortable in your everyday life, such as the use of artificial tears.
